Dealing with LVM problems

Mirror Disk failed but can’t replace it

  1. lvdisplay -k -v /dev/vg_name - gives pvkey

  2. lvreduce -k pv_key_number -m 0 /dev/vg_name - this will remove the mirror LV

  3. May now need to remove the faulty disk from the volume group

    1. vgreduce -f /dev/vg_name
    2. mv /etc/lvmtab /etc/lvmtab.old
    3. vgscan -v
    4. vgcfgbackup /dev/vg_name
